Today's Lesson (12/7): The three largest urban forests are in Brazil and we visited
#1 and
#2 today.
Way too many pictures for the 10 photo Instagram limit today! We spent the morning between the hotel fitness center and Copacabana Beach, where we tried to limit our sun exposure to about an hour with sunscreen. However, the sun is different here... we still got lobstered! Regardless, we were excited about our afternoon/evening jeep tour to 18 beaches and Telegrafo Rock in the Parque Estadual da Pedra Branca, the largest urban forest in the world. Our guide, Alvaro, was very enthusiastic for his work and photography, so the tour ended up being more like a personal photo shoot! We have so many pictures of us now...he even sent them right after the tour was over late last night.
The big feature of the day was the now famous Telegrafo Rock, where people like to pose from a rock that looks dangerous but really isn't, lol. It was silly fun. We also got to see Brazilian Raccoons, beautiful views of beaches, and crazy big lightning bugs! Seriously, they're super BIG here.
