Globetrotting Gear

When globetrotting, backpackers are pretty easy to spot by our uniform: a large pack on our backs, a small pack on our fronts, and a reusuable grocery bag (or two) in our hands. For us, it’s important to be light while also ready for any adventure. Below, we list the gear we share and the gear we each find most critical for both comfort and survival.

Our Gear:

  • Tent: Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2
  • Sleeping Quilt: Jacks ‘R Better 30 Degree Two Person Quilt
  • Sleeping Pad: Big Agnes Q Core SLX Double Wide
  • Stove/Cookset: Jetboil Minimo, Toaks Pot, Sporks, and Collapsible Cups
  • Water Treatment: Steripen Ultra – Rechargeable UV Water Purifier
  • Foldable Duffel: This comes in handy when needing to store a few items in a hostel while backpacking.
  • Locks: We carried both TSA Approved and Regular Lightweight Locks for our bags and hostel storage.
  • Chamois Towels: These small towels dry you better than mircofiber towels and are way cheaper.
  • Universal Converter: Be ready to charge up no matter where you go!
  • Skyroam: We have found that our Skyroam works well almost everywhere we go. It provides internet service to up to 5 devices using local cell towers.
