Awoke early-ish to run-ish about 3.5 miles to the Assistens Cemetery to pay tribute to HC Anderson, Niels Bohr, and Soren Kierkegaard before a simple breakfast.

Our touring began at the Rosenborg Castle (King Christian IV’s summer home, where he liked to play Hugh Hefner) followed by a picnic on the grounds and a visit to Amalienborg Palace, a more current royal residence.

Next, we stopped by the Design Museum en route to the Church of Our Savior, a very old Lutheran Church with an incredible tower climb. It was unusual in that the last 150 steps are completely outside the spire!!

Very nearby the church is a large squatter/hippie community, so we stopped in to look around and enjoy a beverage (while others enjoyed a different kind of less than legal treat).

We then stopped by the scant and skippable Architecture Museum en route to take a canal boat tour… just as it started to rain! So yeah, it was actually pretty miserable, but we made up for it with some grocery store treats while drying off in the flat before heading out for a delicious, traditional smorgasbord dinner!
