Vietnam Day Four

Can Tho to Chau Doc:

Another busy day on the Mekong! Woke early for breakfast of bread and jam before meeting others in our group for a visit to the floating markets of Cai Raing where we bought a coconut to drink!

After the floating markets, we headed to a Vermicelli noodle factory to learn about the process. Then we stopped for a restroom break and I got to play foosball with some local kids before heading to another island to rent bikes to see a really old tree. On the island, we also explored gardens with multiple “monkey bridges,” or bridges made of a single piece of bamboo.

Then we got back on the boat and headed back to Can Tho for a large lunch before heading towards the Tra Su Forest and Bird Sanctuary to ride 3 more boats around the area! By the time we were finished at Tra Su, we had a great sunset, so we stopped to watch before heading on to Chau Doc for the night.

Once in our hotel, showers were in order! Then, on our last night here in Vietnam, we went in search of Banh Mi sandwiches on the busy streets of this city and found them! We have another early day tomorrow heading into Cambodia, so goodnight!
