Zagora to Imlil Itinerary:
Woke early again for a sunrise dune hike, but could barely get out of bed with what seemed like the 40 pounds of blankets it took to keep us warm through a night in the desert.
After our beautiful hike (see pics) and a quick breakfast, it was time to hit the road again for another long day of driving to get to back to the Atlas Mountains and prepare for a day of hiking tomorrow.
Not much to report about the drive. It was pretty, relaxing, and we had a lot of fun with our guides. We did stop to explore a local souq in the midst of the largest oasis in Africa where they grow dates, so we bought a big box of yummy dates.
Despite the pleasant drive, we were very happy to arrive at our beautiful Riad in Imlil, a quaint mountain town, for some mint tea, a hot shower, robes, a king size bed, balcony overlooking a water fall, and WiFi! Expect gorgeous pictures of the area tomorrow because it was too dark when we arrived. Merry Xmas everyone!!
