Paris Day One

PARIS!

Arrived today around noon via the “chunnel” and met up with Christophe from whom we are renting the most adorably tiny flat in the Latin Quarter.

We quickly got settled and walked the streets past Notre Dame along the left bank up along Canal St. Martin to see the Place de la Bastille and headed over to the Place Des Vosges.

We visited the recommended Maison de Victor Hugo then spent some time at the Carnavalet Museum. My favorite moment of the day was trying to ask for a guidebook in French, only to have the guard hand me an Italian guide! Apparently, my French has an Italian accent.

We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering the streets until we found a supermarket near the flat and bought some groceries. Reuben is absolutely hilarious in a foreign grocery store.

We returned to flat for some wine and macaroons (or add Reuben calls them: tiny colorful hamburger cookies) to freshen up before a delicious dinner of mussels and frites and beof bourginon. Yeah Paris!
